Who are SCAN?
Sevenoaks Climate Action Network (SCAN) is a growing community of local volunteers, neighbours and changemakers united by the simple belief that people acting together in the place they call home can make a real difference to the climate and nature crisis.
We're not waiting for distant governments or big corporations to solve this for us. We're starting here, in Sevenoaks, with the skills, connections, and energy we already have.
The climate crisis
The climate crisis isn't some distant problem that's waiting for future generations – it's already here. We're seeing hotter summers, heavier rainfall, more flooding, longer droughts and increasing pressure on wildlife and the places we love. It matters because it affects all of us, from our health and food supplies to our homes, local economy and the future our children will inherit. The good news is that, by working together in our communities, we can make a real difference and help build a cleaner, healthier and more resilient future.
